The World's First GPS Solar Watches

The World's First GPS Solar Watches

Baselworld is an annual watch and jewellery show, where exhibitors and visitors flock in their masses to view the most up to date designs and technological advancements in the watch and jewellery industry.  The majority of visitors will be travelling from countries across the globe and will have to adjust their watches to Central European Time.  Many will wonder why no watch brand as of yet, has manufactured a timepiece that automatically performs this function.  Seiko are delighted to be exhibiting the Astron GPS Solar Watch at Baselworld 2012.  The new Seiko Astron GPS watch adjusts itself automatically to each of the world’s 39 time zones; this advancement in technology is just as important to Seiko as its first quartz watch produced in 1969.  Seiko’s 2012 collection has also been released for the very first time at Baselworld and contains several new creations, including a large range of womens watches and new additions to the highly successful Sportura range plus a new version of their mechanical calibre with enhanced performance.

Seiko Astron is the world’s first patented GPS Solar Watch that utilizes GPS satellites instead of radio transmission towers.  It recognises all the 39 time zones on the planet, by picking up GPS signals which transmit accurate time and date from the global network of GPS satellites. The development of the new Seiko Astron mens watches are a breakthrough in technology and as exciting to the watch industry today, as the production of the first quartz watch was in 1969. This could be the most intelligent watch designed yet.  Seiko Astron will be released simultaneously to all markets worldwide. Please contact Creative Watch for more information and availability.

A year ago the watch industry were deeply saddened by the loss suffered due to the tsunami that hit Japan on March 11th 2011.  Japan as a nation is still struggling to recover from this dreadful event.  Seiko have been encouraged by the goodwill they have experienced throughout the past year and would like to thank everyone who has expressed their kindness and shown great generosity. Looking to the future Seiko wishes everyone at Baselworld 2012 an enjoyable and exciting time.
